buttons

I need to purchase this.....

so I can make these...

custom buttons for your wedding or event!

my husband and i made these buttons for our wedding. some were icons from our invitations and some were just for fun, but all had meaning. a big shout out to Dustin Ortiz for the icon design and for letting us borrow his button maker.

the new addition

It was a crazy last two weeks at The Floral Lab! Weddings on the 11th and the 18th. From black and white to orangey coral. From modern to organic. Somewhere in between, my husband picked up this beauty of a floral cooler for me that I found on craigslist. It puts the old refrigerator to shame!

Pictures and highlights from both weddings to come.....

could you do it?

Could you forego fresh flowers for paper? Pop up weddings have been popping up all over the place! The Summer 2009 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings featured this budget-friendly idea and the pictures above were from the Pop Up Wedding Series held in Brooklyn. Check out the Brooklyn Bride's recap over at The Bride's Guide blog for behind the scene pics.

More pop up inspiration from *ahhhhh* Chanel...

purple palette

Style Me Pretty featured this wedding which took place in Connecticut and was inspired by the color purple. The bridesmaid dresses from Butter by Nadia instantly caught my eye! The satin dresses are amazing and you can twist and tie them in all different styles and they come in a variety of different colors. I love how the bride chose varying tones.

I've become somewhat of a shoe fanatic and would be remissed if I didn't comment on the bride's shoes by Christian Louboutin. I highly recommend splurging on yourself as the bride and buying a pair of shoes that make you feel beautifully sexy.

the cutest placecards + budvase

Ahh...the placecard table. There is a lot of really cheesy wedding decor out there so when I find something simple and modern I get excited. I geeked out over these from blumebox. With their double sided patterned designs you're sure to find one to coordinate with your color palette.

Stephanie & Derek ~ The Powerhouse, Del Mar 5/9/09

Derek and Stephanie are the ULTIMATE fun and laid back couple. Exactly 9 years after their first date, they said, "I do!" The Powerhouse in Del Mar set the scene for a beautifully natural ceremony and reception. A simple detail that everyone LOVED...Derek and Stephanie had gathered small rocks from their favorite local beaches and placed a single rock on each guest's seat prior to the ceremony. During the ceremony they asked their family and friends to pick up their small rock and make a wish for the couple. The rocks were gathered in a glass vase for the couple to display in their home. Curly willow branches, orchids, and calla lilies set the scene for the intimate reception.
